Finally, we can preorder the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, but it will be an expensive smartphone. It will cost the same as the S21 Ultra did at launch, for example, the price of S21 Ultra with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage was $1,200 in the US, $1,849 in AU, and £1,149 in the UK.
Also, like the previous model, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will come with different variants like the one with 12GB of RAM and more storage.
If you are a fan of these phones and you can’t wait to see this gorgeous device, you can pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra now, and it’ll be on sale on Friday, February 25 in the US and UK. If you are from Australia, you’ll have to wait a little longer, until March 3.
RAM | US price | AU price | UK price |
8/128GB | $1,200 | $1,849 | £1,149 |
12/256GB | $1,300 | $1,999 | £1,249 |
12/512GB | $1,400 | $2,149 | £1,329 |
12GB/1TB | $1,600 | $2,449 | £1,499 |
Design and display
When you look at the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra design, you can tell that is much more like a Note phone and it’s not like from traditional Galaxy S family. The back of this device is made of glass, with a brushed finish and it feels premium when you are holding it.
You’ve got seven color options, four basic colors which are Phantom Black, Phantom White, Burgundy or Green, and three exclusive samsung.com colorways which are Graphite, Sky Blue, and Red. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is a big phone with dimensions of 77.9 x 163.3 x 8.9mm and the weight of this device is 228g.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has an excellent 6.8″ edge Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2XInfinity-O Display (3088×1440) with 500ppi and 120Hz refresh rate. I think that this is the best screen available.
Camera
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with Quad camera with 108MP Wide-angle Camera, 12MP Ultra Wide, 10MP Telephoto Camera and 10MP Periscope telephoto Camera. The selfie camera comes with 40MP Wide sensor and features dual video call, auto-HDR and 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30fps video recording.
Performance and battery life
You can get two variants of Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra depends on where you are in the world; if you live in the US you’ll get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset inside this phone, while those in the UK or Australia will get Samsung’s own Exynos 2200 chipset.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with an 8GB model with 128GB of storage, while the 12GB models have a choice of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB – and there’s no microSD support on these devices, so you will need to choose wisely.
We’ve yet to use the Galaxy S22 Ultra for long enough to pass judgment on its battery life, but we can tell you that it’s powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which is the same as we saw in the S21 Ultra.
That phone had solid battery life, but it wasn’t the absolute best on the market.
Samsung has improved its fast-charging here, and the S22 is compatible with up to 45W chargers.
You won’t get a charger in the box with this phone, so you’ll have to buy a 45W charger separately or use one you already have. There’s also wireless charging compatibility up to 15W.
