Today, when almost all of us have smartphones, it still often turns out that they can’t fulfill all our needs, despite their many features. The phone is still a bit too small to comfortably browse the web, read e-books, write notes, and things like that. Therefore, there is a need for a larger device, and with it comes a new dilemma: what is a better choice according to our needs – a tablet or a mini laptop?

Tablet vs Mini Laptop

Tablet vs Mini Laptop

The mini laptop offers it all

By deciding to buy a mini laptop (i.e. a netbook), you will be able to ensure enough flexibility and also the speed of the device. You will also be able to use the device for business purposes.  Unlike the tablet, the mini laptop is also equipped with a convenient keyboard, which allows you to easily write messages, notes, or longer texts. It would definitely take a lot more time and, above all, patience to write texts on a virtual keyboard.

Tablet vs Mini Laptop

So buying a mini laptop makes it easier to write all kinds of texts, and sharing data and files is a bit easier. It is possible to use USB sticks, which is especially more convenient if you use the device on a poor Internet connection or without it. Compared to tablets, mini laptops have up to 10 times more storage space. Laptops also provide so-called multitasking, and tablets usually allow you to perform only one task at a time.

By deciding to buy a mini laptop, you will definitely be able to get more things compared to the tablet.

Tablet as an easier choice

Tablets have been a real hit for some time now, especially among young people who want a light and simple device for browsing the web, using apps, playing games, and writing notes. However, the fact that they are very popular does not mean that they are the best choice. It should, of course, be clear that each individual has different, very specific needs.

The tablet is closer to a smartphone than a laptop in terms of its functions and has only a slightly larger screen. This means that for owners of smartphones with a large screen, the tablet will not significantly change their user experience.

Tablet vs Mini Laptop

The tables differ from each other in screen size. We know tablets with a screen diagonal of about 17.8 cm (7”) as well as larger. For owners of larger smartphones, we advise buying a tablet with a screen diagonal at least 25.6cm (10,1”).

Most tablets can be turned into a mini-laptop-like device with the help of an optional tablet keyboard. This makes typing easier, but buying such a keyboard is an additional expense. Besides that, it does not affect the operation of the tablet itself and its functions, which are significantly different from a mini laptop.

Here are some of the advantages of the tablets:

  • Because we don’t normally switch them off, they are ready for use at any time, so there is no need to reload the system;
  • they can be used for up to 10 hours without charging the battery;
  • devices are lighter, thinner, and consequently more mobile;
  • with them, you can access the internet almost anywhere.

For easier and more clear comparison, we have summarized all the main features of both devices in the table below:
