Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is the new mid-range phone from Samsung. It was unveiled on 17th March at the brand’s “A Event”. This phone has a lot of new and improved features that make it a great choice for anyone looking for a new smartphone. The first thing you’ll notice about the Galaxy A53 5G is the stunning new design. The phone is made with a metal frame and a glass back, and it looks absolutely gorgeous.
The screen is also larger and more vibrant than ever before, and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The camera has also been upgraded and now includes a quad-camera system that allows you to take amazing photos and videos. The battery life has been improved as well, and the phone now supports fast charging. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is a great choice for anyone looking for a new smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy A53 5G Design
Samsung Galaxy A53 5G definitely feels cheaper when you compare it with the Samsung Galaxy S22 or even the S21 FE which is also the cheapest Galaxy S model. But for its price is a kinda good and slim designed device. When you compare this device with Galaxy A52 5G from 2021, you can’t find any huge differences, but that’s not mean it’s a bad thing, because this is a very good-looking phone. The dimensions of this device are 159.6 x 74.8 x 8.1 mm and it weighs 189g. It is IP67 dust and water-resistant and you can put it underwater for about 30 mins up to 1m deep.
You can choose between four different colors which are black, white, blue and peach.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G comes with an 6.5″ Super AMOLED screen as you’d expect – so it appears to have plenty of vibrancy in those colors and deep blacks. The protection of this device screen is Gorilla Glass 5 which is very good to keep the screen from scratches. There is a 120Hz refresh rate which gives you an amazing user experience.
Hardware and Performance
This device is equipped with an Exynos 1280 Octa-core processor with 2×2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 and 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 and Mali-G68 GPU. You can choose between models with 128GB storage and 4GB RAM, 128GB with 6GB RAM, 128GB with 8GB RAM or 256GB with 8GB RAM. Samsung Galaxy A53 5G comes with Android 12 and One UI 4.1.
The battery of this device is a Li-Po with 5000mAh and has the ability to fast charge with a 25W charger. That’s a generous capacity and increased over the previous version of this phone. We suspect that this will lead to great battery life in typical use – Samsung is promising 2 days of life.
Samsung claims that this new Exynos 1280 gives a boost over the previous hardware used on this grade of the device, so this phone should be a better performer while continuing to offer 5G connectivity.
Camera
There’s a quad camera system on the rear of the Galaxy A53 5G, but keep your excitement in check while we explain what you’re looking at here. As is common in mid-range devices, you have two cameras that are worth exploring and two that are likely just thrown in to make up the numbers.
The main camera has a 64-megapixel sensor and offers OIS – optical image stabilisation – on its lens and that should help to keep images cleaner over longer exposures. There’s also night mode on this phone – something that some budget phones miss out on, like the iPhone SE.
Although we haven’t fully tested this camera system, we expect the main camera to be pretty good, based on using this sort of hardware in other devices. But note – it’s only the main camera that has autofocus, the rest are fixed focus.
There’s no zoom on this phone, with Samsung instead suggesting you might shoot in full resolution (at 64-megapixels) and crop in, but otherwise you’re looking at digital zooming – so don’t expect too much from zoom photos.
The ultra-wide camera has a 12-megapixel sensor and we’ve always been fond of ultra-wide, ever since LG started pushing this on phones about 5 years ago. Again, we need to test it in the real world to gauge the performance of this particular lens.
