- Go to “Settings” and tap “Face ID & Passcode” and enter your passcode.
- Then, tap to turn on the option” Face ID with a Mask” and then tap “Use Face ID with a Mask” to confirm it.
- Next, tap “Get started” to start.
Now you have to make sure that you’re holding your iPhone in portrait orientation and position your face at the frame on your screen. Don’t forget that you are NOT supposed to wear a mask during this setup process.
Next, you have to move your head in a circle to complete the setup. Face ID focuses on the definition and the unique points around your eyes when a mask is detected, you will have to make a second scan in case you are wearing glasses. When you will be unable to move your head tap “Accessibility Options” at the bottom of your iPhone screen and tap “Done”.
If you want to set up an alternate appearance, you should tap “Alternate Appearance” in the options. Face ID is made to recognize glasses that have clear lenses, but there is an option to add your frames for better precision by tapping “Add Glasses”. If you have more glasses you can add up to 4 different ones.
