Your Windows 10 PC is slowing down, and your PC needs a decade to open files? Here on this page, you can find the answer to how to speed up your Windows 10 PC. Keep reading and you are going to be very happy when your PC is going to open your files quicker.
1. The first thing to do to make your PC run faster is to Change your power settings
If you are using power saving mode on your Windows 10 PC, that’s means that the system is reducing power usage and slowing down your processor. To give your PC an instant boost, you need to change that from power-saving mode to high performance and your Windows 10 PC is going to run faster in a second.
To do that, you need to launch the Control Panel app, then select Hardware and Sound->Power Options. You are going to see two options: “Balanced (recommended)” and “Power saver.” To see the “High performance” setting, click the down arrow by “Show additional plans.”
To change your settings and make your PC run faster, simply click on the High-performance option that the red arrow shows you in the picture above.
2. Second thing is to Disable programs that run on startup
You need to open Task Manager: Press Ctrl-Shift-Esc, right-click the lower-right corner of your screen and select Task Manager, or type task manager into the Windows 10 search box and press Enter.
Click the Startup tab. You’ll see a list of the programs and services that launch when you start Windows. Included on the list is each program’s name as well as its publisher, whether it’s enabled to run on startup, and its “Startup impact,” which is how much it slows down Windows 10 when the system starts up.
To stop a program or service from launching at startup, right-click it and select “Disable.” This doesn’t disable the program entirely; it only prevents it from launching at startup — you can always run the application after launch. Also, if you later decide you want it to launch at startup, you can just return to this area of the Task Manager, right-click the application and select “Enable.”
3.Defrag your hard disk
To find this option, you need to type Defragment in the search box on your Windows 10 PC and press Enter. Click on Defragment and Optimize your Drives. Here you can choose which partition you want to defragand click Optimize button to defragment it.
What is defrag?
Defragmentation, also known as “defrag” or “defragging”, is the process of reorganizing the data stored on the hard drive so that related pieces of data are put back together, all lined up in a continuous fashion.
You could say that defragmentation is like cleaning house for your Servers or PCs, it picks up all of the pieces of data that are spread across your hard drive and puts them back together again, nice and neat and clean.
