iCloud can be found on every Apple device, iPhone, iPad, iPod, and Mac laptop. Its function is to make sure that your files, photos, videos, notes, and more are securely stored. It keeps them safe, keep them up to date and at the same time it makes them available to you any time and wherever you are.

Anything that you have already put on iCloud, can be accessed from any of your other devices, you just need to know your Apple ID and password to sign in. What you store in iCloud depends on your individual settings and needs and you can change them anytime you want in “Settings” or “System Preferences”.

iCloud

Some of the apps you have are already using iCloud such as Contact, Calendar, Mail, Notes, and Reminders. If you want, you can also add Photos and Messages to iCloud. This means that every time you add a new photo, note, or message it will be automatically be uploaded and saved in iCloud. What it takes is to have your Wi-Fi or cellular connection turned on, and those files will be kept safe and up to date.

iCloud important thing

The important thing to know is that if you delete some item from your iCloud, it will be permanently deleted from all your devices, so you have to make sure you don’t need that item anymore before you delete it.

With iCloud Backup your information on your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Apple Watch can also be securely stored with iCloud, which includes your app data, device settings, home screen configuration, and many more things. It can also keep a record of your purchases from iTunes and the App Store (music, TV shows, apps, movies).

iCloud Backup

iCloud Backup can backup only the information and files on your device itself, and it doesn’t include items that are already stored in iCloud. These backups are happening on your device throughout the day when your Apple Device is connected to Wi-Fi or cellular connection when you have battery power and when the screen is locked. If you have multiple devices, you can back them all up to iCloud.

iCloud backup

If you ever need to restore the data on your Apple Device or if you want to set up a new one, you can do it very easily with iCloud.  Your device will be restored from the backup, and anything you have stored in iCloud will be available to you when you sign in.

Long story short, iCloud helps you to have access to your all favorite and most important files and information, from every device at any time.
