Face ID with a Mask

The first new feature that we will show to you is the face ID update that allows you to unlock your device while wearing a mask. With iOS 15.4, you can use your Face ID while wearing a mask. Easily unlock your iPhone, use Apple Pay, and authorize apps and passwords.

New Emojis

Nest with eggs, empty nest, x-ray, crutch, playground slide, wheel, ring buoy, hamsa, mirror ball, jar, identification card, and low battery are new items, while plants and animals will include coral and lotus. Also, we can expect a new troll emoji, and eggs, beans, and pouring liquid make up new food items.

AirTag changes

Apple company has announced some new AirTag changes to come this year. First change is coming with the iOS 15.4 update that was released on March 14.

They added a new message that appears during setup and it says AirTag is “designed to be detected by victims and to enable law enforcement to request identifying information about the owner.” It also warns that using an AirTag to track people without their consent is a crime.

New Siri Voice

Apple adds a new Siri voice in the new iOS 15.4 for American users, which can be elected from the Settings app by going to ‌‌Siri‌‌ & Search and then selecting ‌‌Siri‌‌ Voice. Apple says that the new voice isn’t explicitly male or female and that was recorded by a member of the LBGTQ+ community.

The Health app now supports the EU Digital COVID Certificate format, so you can add your vaccine record to the Health and Wallet apps in supported regions.

Turn Off Notifications for Personal Automations in Shortcuts

For Personal Automations that are set up in the Shortcuts app, there’s a new “Notify When Run” option that lets you toggle notifications for Shortcuts that are activated on or off. With this option, you can choose not to be notified when a Shortcut activates, something that wasn’t possible with earlier versions of ‌iOS 15‌.

iCloud Keychain Notes

Users that are using iCloud Keychain can now add notes to any password entry, bringing ‌iCloud‌ Keychain more in line with other password storing options like 1Password.

iOS 15.4 adds the ability to unlock with Face ID while wearing a mask on iPhone 12 and newer. This update also includes new emoji, a new voice option for Siri, and other features and bug fixes for your iPhone.

• Apple Pay and password autofill in apps and Safari can be used with Face ID while wearing a mask

Emoji
• New emoji including faces, hand gestures, and household objects are now available in emoji keyboard
• Handshake emoji allows you to choose separate skin tones for each hand

FaceTime
• SharePlay sessions can be initiated directly from supported apps

Siri
• Siri can provide time and date information while offline on iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone 11 or newer
• Siri now includes an additional voice, expanding the diversity of options

Vaccine cards
• EU Digital COVID Certificate support in Health enables you to download and store verifiable versions of COVID-19 vaccination, lab results, and recovery records
• COVID-19 vaccination cards in Apple Wallet now support the EU Digital COVID Certificate format
